Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 12, 2026
At GemView ("we", "us", or "our"), we respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and handle your information when you use our Chrome Extension and related services (the "Service").
We operate on a simple principle: What happens in your browser stays in your browser, unless you explicitly choose to share it.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
We want to be crystal clear about what we do not touch:
- We do not collect, store, or transmit your Google Gemini chat history.
- We do not access your personal Google account information (name, email, password).
- We do not track your browsing history on other websites.
- We do not sell your data to advertisers or third parties.
2. Information We Collect and How We Use It
Our extension interacts with your data in two distinct ways:
A. Local Preview (Sandbox)
When you click the "Preview" button, the extension reads the HTML/CSS/JS code block from the current page DOM. This code is rendered locally within your browser using a sandboxed iframe. No data is sent to our servers during this process.
B. Cloud Deployment (One-Click Deploy)
We only collect data when you explicitly click the "Deploy" button. In this case:
- What is sent: Only the specific code snippet you selected to deploy.
- Where it goes: The code is securely transmitted via HTTPS to our backend (hosted on Vercel) and stored in our Object Storage Service (OSS).
- Purpose: To generate a unique, public URL (e.g.,
oiioii.fedfans.com/s/xyz123) that allows you to share your creation. - Retention: Deployed pages may be publicly accessible. You are responsible for ensuring no sensitive information (API keys, passwords) is included in the deployed code.
3. Permissions Explanation
To function correctly, the GemView extension requires the following permissions:
storage: Used locally to save your preferences and deployment history (so you can find your links later).scripting: Used to inject the "Preview" button into the Gemini interface.host_permissions(gemini.google.com): Allows the extension to detect code blocks on Gemini pages.declarativeNetRequest: Used strictly to modify local Content Security Policy (CSP) headers within the preview iframe, enabling the rendering of safe, sandboxed HTML content.
4. Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party services to operate our infrastructure:
- Vercel / AWS / Aliyun OSS: For hosting the deployment API and storing static HTML files.
- Google Chrome Web Store: For extension distribution and updates.
5. Data Security
All data transmission between the extension and our deployment servers occurs over secure HTTPS connections. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect stored deployment files.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
